a)Let the width of the flowerbed be x. (0.25+3x+x)*2=20.5 (0.25+4x)*2 =20.5 . . x=2.5 m The length: 0.25+3*2.5 =7.75m b)The area of the flowerbed: 7.75*2.5 =19.375 m2
