Here population mean μ = 32 standard deviation σ=12 weeks Since the completion time should be a continuous random variables. We should use the continuous distribution. Also, there is no simple reltionship between μ and σ. And it is reasonable that the probability of "complete before the mean time" and "complete later than the mean time" should be the same. So I suggest using normal distribution. Now the sample mean and sample standard deviation of this distribution is X=32 and s=12/sqrt(32)=2.1213
